How to Embed YouTube Responsively on Blogger

Remember, you have to use the address provided when you click underneath the video under "share" and "embed" instead of the address on this one. Add these styles: <style> .video_outer_wrap {     width: 100%;     max-width: 560px;     margin: 15px auto; } .video_wrap {     position: relative;     padding-bottom: 56%;     padding-top: 0px;     height: 0;     background-color: #000 !important; } .video_wrap iframe, .video_wrap object, .video_wrap embed {     position:absolute;     top:0;     width:100%;     height:100%; } </style> And put your YouTube video address in this: <div class="video_outer_wrap">  <div class="video_wrap bottomshadows">  <iframe width="560" height="315" src="____YouTube_video_address____" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> </div> </div> Source: ht...

Wire app, an alternative to WhatsApp and Skype

Image
I was looking for an alternative to WhatsApp and Skype. Actually, I didn't mind WhatsApp too much but it has its limitations, especially if you travel or change phones and want to sign into the same account. I asked the Linux community for recommendations, and decided to try Wire. Other alternatives that got a lot of recommendations, in case you don't like Wire: Discord, Mumble, Tox, Telegram, Google Voice, webRTC sites (just a webpage that you can use to connect P2P) More information about Wire: https://www.technotification.com/2014/12/wire-a-new-app-by-skypes-co-founder.html UPDATE: Suggested improvements to Wire: 1) Loud, more distinct notification sound on phone. When you install the app, two things are difficult. One is the notification sound is too quiet. You don't notice it if you're not close to your phone. Probably this was done in the interest of being subtle and non-imposing, but in practice we are used to Whatsapp notifications, Facebook, I...

What is Tor? and should I bother with it?

To be updated, as I know nothing about this things yet.

Understanding What Linux Is

What is the "kernel" of Linux, aka the "Linux kernel"? It's the thing that interacts with the hardware of your machine. It is a file. (In Windows, they go to a recycle bin, then you delete them from there, and sometimes they're still recoverable after that.) https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/10883/where-do-files-go-when-the-rm-command-is-issued

Here's what I need: Edit movies, edit images, edit sounds, play videos, view images, play sounds, Stream vlogs, record video of desktop, do screenshots with a hotkey, monitor processes, rename and bulk rename files, Here's how I do that with Linux ... Linux already views images and plays sounds. The other stuff requires program installs. First, find out what Linux you have installed. You probably have a basic Ubuntu version. I have Zorin 12, for example, but that is the same thing as the mainstream Ubuntu Debian. So when I find things to install, I look for the Ubuntu install (which is the most common).  cat /etc/*-release Source: https://www.cyberciti.biz/faq/find...

#YearofLinux

As more people talk about abandoning untrusted and exploitative OS's, they turn to Linux. Is 2017 "the Year of Linux?" If so, you can use #YearofLinux".

What Linux needs to compete with Windows

It can be difficult for Windows users to change to Linux, even when they want to, because they depend on functions and programs they can use on Windows. Among these are: 1. Renaming files, and highlight-many-files-and-rename-them-all 2. Hotkey screenshots (we use Screenhunter on Windows) 3. Video screen recorder (we use Active Presenter on Windows) 4. Easily pair my Bluetooth devices (Windows does this) 5. Show me processes and their usages live (Windows Task Manager does this) 6. A program just like Paint, but with a few more features 7. It should be easier to install drivers for printers

Easy: link Screenhunter can't be used. On Linux, I used Shutter, feature-rich screenshot program.

Best Free Web Apps

Image
Here is a list of web apps so that you can do things you used to need programs installed on your computer to do. You need to write, draw, edit photos, process video, and more, right? If any of these become un-free, message below and we'll replace them. On the same note, do not use adblockers because if you do, the people who make these free programs (which takes a LOT of work as well as costs them a lot for hosting and coding) will not be able to support themselves or make more free content. If they can make money by displaying ads on their sites, they will make more free apps for us and will not need to think about removing the free access and replacing it with a paid download version. If you need to use adblocker for some sensitive searches, install a second browser and install adblocker on that and conduct your sensitive searches on it, then return to your regular browser for using the internet again. 1. Remove Windows Install Linux

Image
We're going Linux. We've been forced to by Microsoft's tyranny: forcing us to use Bing instead of Google, even in Chrome (and combating attempts by people to make Chrome apps to let us still use Google - click here for a YouTube video of what I mean ), forced use of apps, hijacking (causing slow processing, causing failure to load of internet processes, etc) the OS until we update, forced updates, lack of concern for users, etc. There's no point in listing all the abuses Microsoft is now perpetrating on its users ... It's obvious from the relentless nature of they way they're doing it that it's not the sort of thing we can say "Well, they're done with that now and we can get around it" but instead we have to admit "They've shown they don't care and are going to continue doing these things and it will probably get worse for the foreseeable future" ... needless to say, its enough now for us to leave Windows, which we've al...
